Update your site from WhatsApp

Send a message to close for the day, change today's hours or put up a banner, without opening the editor.

You can change your site's banner and hours by sending us a WhatsApp message. It's for the things that come up when you're not at a computer, like closing early or a snow day.

  1. In your dashboard, open WhatsApp.
  2. Type your WhatsApp number and click Continue.
  3. Click Open WhatsApp and send the message it fills in, from that phone. The page updates when we get it.

Only messages from your linked number can change anything, and only for the businesses you can reach yourself. If you leave the team, it stops working. To stop it yourself, click Unlink this number.

What you can say

Write the way you'd text a coworker:

  • "We're closed today"
  • "Closing at 3 on Friday"
  • "Opening at noon tomorrow, snow"
  • "Closed Thanksgiving and the Friday after"
  • "Put up a banner: now hiring"
  • "Take the banner down"
  • "We're open after all"
  • "What's on my site right now?"
  • "Undo"

We reply with exactly what changed, including the dates, so you can see right away if we got a day wrong. A closure of more than a week asks you to reply YES first, because it stops new bookings for all of that time.

We can't use photos, voice notes or forwarded messages yet. For anything else, use the editor.

When it goes live

Your site rebuilds with the change, which takes a few minutes, and we message you when it's live. Anything you were still working on in the editor stays there, unpublished. If the editor is open when the change goes live, it asks you to reload the page.

A business with no website has no banner on its booking page. Closed days and special hours take effect there as soon as you send them.

What it does to your bookings

If you take bookings, closing a day stops new ones. Bookings you already have stay on your calendar, and nobody is told. We tell you how many there are, and you can cancel or move them in Bookings.

There's only one banner, so a new one replaces what was there. Undo puts the old one back, as long as your site hasn't been published again since.

Still stuck?

Try it on the live demo first; nothing you do there is saved. If you’d rather have a person do it, ask for a work request from your dashboard. You’ll get a quote before any work starts.
