Projects

Show jobs you're proud of with before and after photos, each with its own page and story.

Nothing sells your work like seeing it. Each project in your list gets its own page with its photos and story, and a Projects section shows your projects on any page, newest first.

Add a project

  1. Click Lists in the left menu, then click Edit projects on the Projects card.
  2. Click Add project.
  3. Give it a Project name and add its photos and story (see below).
  4. Click Publish when you're done.

Projects are sorted by the date in Finished, newest first, so there are no arrows to reorder them.

What you can fill in

  • Project name: like "Terraced patio on a steep lot".
  • Kind of work: like "Patios". It lets a Projects section show one kind of work.
  • Town or neighborhood: shown with the project, and used on town pages.
  • Finished: the date the job was done.
  • Before photo and After photo: the After photo is the main photo of the finished work.
  • More photos: up to 12, each with a Caption. Click Add photo to add one.
  • Short description: a sentence or two, shown in Projects sections.
  • The story: what the problem was, what you did and how it turned out. Leave a blank line between paragraphs.
  • What the client said and Client name: a quote from the customer, shown beside the story.

Take good before and after photos

Stand in the same spot and point the camera the same way for both photos, at the same time of day if you can. Matching photos make the change easy to see, especially with the slider on the project's page.

Each project's own page

Every project with a name gets a page of its own, like /projects/terraced-patio. It shows:

  • the kind of work, the town and when it was finished
  • the before and after photos, with a slider visitors drag to compare them (with only one of the two photos, that photo is shown large)
  • the short description, the story and what the client said
  • your other photos, with their captions
  • a Get a quote for a project like this button (it goes where your header button goes), and a link back to all your projects

The address is made from the project's name. You can change it in Web address, but do it before you share the link, because changing it later breaks old links.

Show projects on a page

  1. In Lists, click Add to a page on the Projects card.
  2. Under Which page?, pick the page, then click Add and edit.
  3. A Projects section is added and opened for you.

To start a whole page of your projects, click Pages, then New page, and pick the Project gallery template. See Add a page.

Projects section settings

  • Heading and Intro: the words above your projects.
  • Only this kind of work: type a Kind of work, like "Patios", to show only those projects. Great on a service's own page.
  • Only this town: type a town to show only the projects there. Great on town pages.
  • How many: 3, 6, 12 or All, newest first.
  • Layout: Cards, Alternating (a large photo beside the text, switching sides), Rows or Carousel.
  • Show before and after photos side by side: shows both photos in each project's card, for projects that have both. Turn it off to show just the After photo.
  • Show items one by one as visitors scroll: each project fades in as the section comes into view.

Each project in the section links to its own page.

Still stuck?

Try it on the live demo first; nothing you do there is saved. If you’d rather have a person do it, ask for a work request from your dashboard. You’ll get a quote before any work starts.
