Ask for an AI change

Get something the editor can't do, like a new kind of section, made by AI. See the price first, look at a preview, and pay only if you publish it. When AI can't, have a person do it.

The editor lets you change any words, photos, pages, lists and colors yourself, for free. When you want something it can't do, like a new kind of section made for your business, ask for an AI change. AI makes it, you look at a preview, and you decide whether it goes on your site.

Ask for a change

  1. In your site's editor, click AI changes in the left menu.
  2. Under Where on your site, pick the page, and the section on it if the change is about one section. You can leave it as Anywhere, or I'll say.
  3. Under What should change, describe the change: what it should say or show.
  4. Click Get a price. It takes about a minute.

Asking is free. Nothing on your site changes until you approve it.

Ask from the page you're editing

You don't have to explain where something is. While you're editing a page:

  • To change one section, click it to open it, then click Ask AI to change this at the bottom.
  • To change the whole page, click Ask AI to change this page at the top.

AI changes opens with that page or section already picked, and the preview shows it. Then just say what should change, like "show these as cards with a photo on top".

AI works from your live site, so a page or section you've added but not published yet can't be picked. Publish first, then ask.

Add pictures

Under Pictures, click Add a picture to attach up to four. They help in two ways:

  • To show what you mean. A screenshot of a website you like, a photo of a printed menu, or a quick sketch of a layout. AI matches the idea in your site's own colors and fonts. It never copies another website's words, logos or photos.
  • To put on your site. Your own photos, like your team or your latest project.

Say what each picture is for, like "use the first photo" or "make it look like the second picture". Pictures you add are also saved to your photos, so you can use them anywhere on your site.

Read the price

When the price is ready, you see:

  • What will change, in plain words.
  • At most a price, like "At most $5". You pay what the change actually uses, which is often less, and never more than this.

Sometimes the answer is that you can do it yourself in a minute, with the steps. Or that it isn't something AI changes can do, like a calculator or a button in your header. Then you can have a person do it instead (see below).

Have a person do it

When AI can't make a change but a person on our team can, the same card says A person on our team can do this, with what we'd do and the price. It's $25, $50, $75 or $100, depending on how hard it is.

  1. Click Have us do it. The price is set aside from your credits, and a person starts on it within 2 business days. You aren't charged yet.
  2. If we have a question, we email you. Reply to the email to answer it.
  3. When it's done, we email you what we did. Click Take a look, then:
    • It's right (or Put it on my site, when what you're looking at is a preview): the price is taken from your credits. A preview goes on your site first, and you're charged once it's there.
    • Ask for changes: say what's not right, and we fix it. One round of changes is included.
  4. If you don't answer within 7 days, we count it as done, and a preview goes on your site.

Sometimes what you asked for would help every site, like a new kind of section. Then we build it as a new feature for everyone, and it reaches your site with an update. The card says so while we work on it, and when it's on your site we email you to take a look, the same as above. Everyone who asked for it gets $10 in credits as thanks, including people who only asked for an AI change. It shows in your editor under What's new.

For a bigger job, the card says Ask us for a price instead. We send you a price within 2 business days, and nothing is charged until you approve it. You can cancel a request until we start on it, and if we can't take it on, you get your credits back. Some things no website like yours can do, like logins or live booking times; then the card says why, and which add-on covers it, if one does.

Approve it

Click Approve. The price is set aside from your credits, and AI starts making the change. It usually takes 5 to 15 minutes. You can leave the page; we email you when it's ready.

If you don't have enough credits, click Add credits to approve, add credits in your dashboard, then come back and approve.

Look at the preview, then publish or discard

When the change is ready, you see what AI says it did and which parts of your site it changed.

  1. Click Look at the preview. Your site opens with the change in place, at a separate preview address. Your real site isn't changed yet.
  2. If you like it, click Publish. It goes live in about two minutes, and the cost is taken from your credits.
  3. If you don't, click Discard. You aren't charged.

If it doesn't work out (AI couldn't finish, or the result didn't pass our checks), you aren't charged either.

After publishing, reload the editor. A new section works like any other: change its words and photos in the page editor.

Tips for a good result

  • Be specific. "Add a section to the Services page comparing our three lawn plans: Basic $40, Plus $60, Premium $85, with what each includes" works better than "make the services page better".
  • A picture is worth a paragraph. If you've seen a layout you like, add a screenshot of it.
  • Give the facts. AI never makes up prices, hours, phone numbers or reviews. It uses what you write and what's already on your site.
  • One change at a time. Smaller changes cost less and are easier to check.
  • Edits you were making stay yours. If you have unpublished edits, the change is added to them when you publish it.

Only the account's owner can approve and publish paid changes.

Still stuck?

Try it on the live demo first; nothing you do there is saved. If you’d rather have a person do it, ask for a work request from your dashboard. You’ll get a quote before any work starts.
