Show Facebook and Instagram posts
Put your best Facebook and Instagram posts and reels on your page, with Follow us buttons.
The Social posts section shows up to 6 posts or reels from your Facebook page or Instagram. You pick each one. Before anyone presses it, each post shows as a card with your caption and cover photo. When a visitor presses it, the real post loads in its place, with likes and comments. Facebook and Instagram load only for visitors who press a post, so your page stays fast and those sites can't track everyone else.
It shows the posts you choose. It doesn't update by itself when you post something new. To change what's shown, swap in new links.
What you need first
- A public post on your Facebook page or Instagram account. Posts on a private account, or in a private Facebook group, can't be shown on other websites.
- The post's link. You don't need a password or API key.
Find your post's link
- Open the post or reel in the Instagram app or on instagram.com.
- Tap or click the share button (the paper airplane), then Copy link. On a computer you can copy the address from your browser's address bar instead.
The link looks like https://www.instagram.com/p/… (or /reel/… for a reel). A link to your profile, like instagram.com/yourname, won't work: it has to be one post.
- Open the post on your Facebook page. Click the time under your page's name (like "2 h" or "May 3") to open the post by itself.
- Copy the address from your browser's address bar.
The link looks like https://www.facebook.com/yourpage/posts/…. Video and reel links work too.
If a link doesn't work, use the embed code instead: click the … button on the post, then Embed, then Copy code, and paste the whole code. It keeps the post's size too. (Facebook only shows Embed on public posts.)
Add the section
You can add it from either place:
- From Integrations: click Integrations in the sidebar. On the Social posts card, click Add to a page. Choose the page under Which page? and click Add and edit. The section goes near the bottom of the page, and you can move it afterward.
- From a page: open Pages and choose a page. On the Content tab, click Add a section at the bottom (or Add section below inside another section), then pick Social posts.
Fill in the fields
- Heading: a few words, like "Follow along."
- Intro: optional. One or two sentences, like "What's new in the greenhouse this week."
- Under Posts, click a post to open it, then fill in:
- Post link: paste the link or embed code you copied.
- Caption: optional. A few words shown on the card before the post loads.
- Cover photo: optional. The post's own photo works well. Without one, the card shows your site's colors.
Click Add post for another one, up to 6. To take one out, click the trash icon on it. - Show "Follow us" buttons: adds a Follow us on Instagram (or Facebook) button under the posts. It uses the links in Business info › Social links, so fill those in first.
Check it in the preview
The preview on the right updates as you type. When the link is right, the message "Paste a Facebook or Instagram post link" goes away and the card shows the network's logo and Show the post.
Posts don't load inside the preview. Clicking the section there just opens it for editing. You can test it on your live site after you publish.
Publish
Click Publish at the top right, and your changes go live in about a minute. Then click View live site, find the section and press a post.
Troubleshooting
Publish is blocked because a post's link "goes to your Facebook page" or "Instagram profile." That's your page's address, not one post's. Open the post itself and copy its link, as above.
Publish is blocked because a post has "no Facebook or Instagram post link." Its Post link is empty or isn't one we recognize. Paste its link, or remove that post.
The post says it isn't available, or shows a blank box. The post may be private, deleted, or on an account that turned off embedding. On Instagram, check Settings › Privacy › Allow people to embed your posts. On Facebook, check that the post's audience is Public.
There's no Follow us button. Fill in your Facebook or Instagram link in Business info › Social links. A button only shows for networks that have at least one post in the section.
What it costs
Social posts are included in your plan. We add nothing on top.
