Take bookings on your site

Let visitors book appointments, estimate visits and spots in classes right on your own site, with emails, reminders and deposits.

With the Bookings add-on ($5 a month for your whole team), visitors book on your own site, in its design and in Spanish too. There are three kinds:

  • Appointments: a service with a length, booked at an open start time with one person or whoever's free.
  • Visits: visitors pick a morning or afternoon window, give their address, and you confirm.
  • Spots in events: a class with a set number of spots, a waitlist, and optional payment.

You and your customer each get an email. They get a reminder the day before, and a link to move or cancel within your rules.

Turn on the add-on

In your dashboard, click Bookings on the site's card, then Turn on bookings. Only the account owner can, once the site is live. Until it's on, booking forms send you a request in your inbox instead.

Add what people can book

  1. Click Lists, then Appointments, then Add appointment.
  2. Give it a Name, choose whether Visitors pick a start time or an arrival window, and set How long it takes and Time between bookings.
  3. Optional: Price shown, Payment when booking, Who does it (a Team group), Visitors pick who they see, I confirm each booking, Ask for their address and Questions to ask.
  4. On a page, add a Booking section and set Booking service to This site. To offer one appointment there, type its name in Show one appointment. Publish.

In Lists › Team, turn on Takes bookings on this site for each person, with Their booking hours if they differ. If nobody does, appointments are with the business.

Settings

On the Bookings screen, Settings sets when people can book (your business hours, or set booking hours), start times, the notice you need, how far ahead, until when visitors can cancel or move online, reminders, an evening email of tomorrow's bookings, arrival windows, and a note above the Book button. Holidays in Business info close bookings by themselves.

Take a deposit

Connect Stripe on the Bookings screen (the store's Stripe account; the store add-on isn't needed). Then set the appointment's Payment when booking to a deposit, or the full price written as a plain amount. Money goes straight to your bank, and we take no cut. Cancellations in time are refunded by themselves if Refund payments when they cancel in time is on.

Classes and events

Open the event in Lists › Events and turn on Take sign-ups on this site. Set Spots, Most people per sign-up, Waitlist when it's full and Take payment when they sign up (the price, per person). Its page gets a sign-up form, and lists show the spots left. When someone cancels, the first person waiting gets the spot (or, when spots are paid, an email to claim it). Under Sign-ups on the Bookings screen, print the list or Email everyone.

Manage bookings

The Bookings screen lists requests Waiting for you (you can also answer from our email), Upcoming, Past and Canceled. Add bookings taken by phone, add Time off, and Download (CSV). If a time doesn't show, Why is this time closed? gives the reason for every time on a day.

To block busy times from your Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar, see Connect your calendar to bookings.

If you turn the add-on off, booking forms go back to sending requests, and past bookings stay listed for 2 years. Each site takes up to 1,000 bookings a month.

Still stuck?

Try it on the live demo first; nothing you do there is saved. If you’d rather have a person do it, ask for a work request from your dashboard. You’ll get a quote before any work starts.
